Here at NOMΔD Cocktail Co., we are beyond excited to introduce you to our 1962 vintage travel trailer, Alice! She may look a bit rusty now, but we have big plans for her!
Since Miss. Alice joined the NOMΔD family she’s had a lot of work done. We started by stripping her down all the way to her bare bones. We removed her original frame, floor, appliances, and fixtures; this pretty much left us with a tin box on wheels… totally scary! But don’t fear because she wasn't like this for long.
Realizing Alice’s makeover was a job fit for someone a little more knowledgeable than ourselves, we set out to find the perfect handyman. Lucky for us he wasn't far. A retired electrician , Maddi's Uncle Duncan jumped at the idea and has yet to slow. His first big projects included adding a whole new frame, electrical wiring, and re-stabilized floor.
The most dramatic but also most satisfying part of the makeover so far has been cutting the service window. 8 feet by 3 feet, the cut spans most of the length of Alice and will be fitted with a French door as its window, a façade designed to wow! We are also super excited about our custom-built benches that line the back of the trailer and conveniently hold our coolers other supplies out of sight.
Leaving the construction to the professionals, as best we can… our attention now has been shifted onto the details. We have spent countless hours in stores, thrift shops, and online searching for the perfect countertops, backsplashes, light fixtures and anything we can imagine. It really is true when they say ‘the Devil is in the details.’ Here is a sneak-peak of the wood we are using for the countertops and what the installed product will look when it is finished!
During Alice's makeover you can find information on her progress, other projects we are working on, and the locally inspired cocktails we make to get us through, here at NOMΔD NEWS, and on our Instagram.
Be inspired and follow us on a NOMΔDIC adventure!
